The objective is to specify safety, quality and operational criteria required to be in place within a manufacturing organisation to supply food products to UK retailers.

BRC Global Standard for Agents and Brokers V.2

The objective is to provide a critical link in the movement and trade of products, and influence supplier product safety and quality standards, as well as being responsible for maintaining an effective chain of traceability.

It is an essential certification for companies that provide purchase, importation or product distribution services in the food and/or packaging supply chain.

It is designed to promote best practice on product safety, quality and the operational criteria required to fulfil obligations with regard to legal compliance and consumer protection.

Supplier Auditing:

Supplier approval and monitoring is a requirement of many customers and GFSI endorsed standards, such as the BRC8 Standard for Food Safety and all major retailers, i.e. M&S,  Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons & Aldi. It can be an onerous task to take on internally, especially if you have many new suppliers. There is greater emphasis placed on Supplier and Raw Material approval and performance monitoring, as well as completing Traceability tests within 4 hours and stock allocation with 2 hours.

There is now a requirement of a documented risk assessment of raw materials as the basis for establishing raw material supplier approval and sampling regimes. I can assist you in carrying out audits either using your documentation or one I have tailored for your business. I will produce a written report detailing recommendations and corrective actions for improvement. You may wish to set up a supplier approval system that you can, after training, run internally yourself. A time consuming task for operational staff can be made much easier.
